18 Aug How to Install Peel & Stick Wood Paneling
It’s so easy to upgrade any space with our peel and stick wood paneling. Wood paneling is lightweight, easy to cut, and made with reclaimed redwood fence boards from California.
Not sure where to start? We’re here to help! You got this!
Before You Start
Once your Weekend Walls wood paneling arrives, it is crucial that you let your material acclimate for at least 3 days before installing. Remove your panels from their box and move into the dry, heated space where it will be installed. All pieces must be unbundled and stacked so surfaces and edges are exposed.
Prepping Your Wall For Wood Paneling
Once your panels are acclimated, it’s time to prepare your wall. To do this, wipe the wall with a clean cloth. The goal is to remove all dust, dirt, grease or grime. Make sure your wall is painted, clean and 100% dry.
Once you have finished cleaning, it is time to measure! Start in the middle of your wall: measure four rows down from the ceiling and make a single pencil mark.
Use a level to mark a reference line where you will place your first board. Take your time, this step is important!
Applying Peel and Stick Wood Paneling to Wall
Choose a long piece for your first board. Peel 2 pieces of adhesive liner off, and only peel about 10 inches of the third liner off. Align your first board to your reference line. Keep it angled away from the wall so it doesn’t stick until you’re ready!
Once your board is lined up, pull the third adhesive liner off and press your board to the wall.
Our adhesive is activated by pressure, so be sure to use a j-roller to apply pressure evenly and firmly. Repeat these steps until your wall is covered and cut boards to size as necessary. We have tips on cutting boards here.
